The Real Review's thoughts on 2015

Puriri Hills Harmonie du Soir 2015 is composed of merlot 78%, malbec 12%, cabernet sauvignon 8% and cabernet franc 2%. It’s an elegant and complex red with a mix of red fruits, floral, spice and subtle nutty oak together with a hint of fresh herbs. Finely-structured with peppery tannins. A supple wine that is successfully modelled after Right Bank Bordeaux. It will age well.

Puriri Hills’ Pope 2015 is made from merlot 60%, cabernet franc 16%, cabernet sauvignon 11%, carménère 9% and malbec 4%. It’s the flagship label and is in a slightly more concentrated and more structured style, thanks in part to the higher percentage of cabernet sauvignon and the addition of carménère. It needs a little time to mellow and develop greater complexity.
