Puriri Hills Harmonie Du Soir, Vintage 2013
THE REVIEWS
97 Points“Much more structured than the Estate wine with a strong initial impact of firm tannins that ease to expose berry, floral and spice flavours on the wine's lengthy finish. More concentrated and complex that the Estate. I tasted this wine over a year ago and it seems to have evolved nicely since then but clearly has even greater potential.” Bob Campbell ONZM MW
5 stars “Still a baby, this is a highly refined, dark and powerful red, with notable depth of blackcurrent and plum flavours, hints of cherries and dark chocolate, and obvious potential. Grace in a glass, it should be very long lived.” Michael Cooper, Listener
94 Points “Youthful fragrant lifted bouquet packed with scents of plum and blackberry, a touch of blueberry then clay, earthy tones, complex and layered. Dry, fresh, tense and very youthful on the palate. Firm tannins with chalky attention seeking textures, abundant acidity and youthful energy. All these messages are tempered by the core of dark red fruit flavours. Persistent in flavour, texture , length and complexity. A very young wine that requires a lot more quiet cellar time to integrate and harmonise. A wine with great potential for those who can wait. Decant for service though best drinking likely from 2024.” Cameron Douglas MS
