Puriri Hills Harmonie Du Soir, Vintage 2014
THE REVIEWS
97 Points “Intense and complex red with a range of flavours including dark berry, plum, wood smoke, roasted chestnut, anise, spice and nutty oak. A delicious wine that's great to taste now but promises to develop further with bottle age.” Bob Campbell ONZM MW
Formerly called 'Puriri Hills Reserve', this regional classic has been labelled as 'Harmonie Du Soir' since the 2012 vintage. The lovely 2014 vintage (5*) is a blend of Merlot (42 per cent), Cabernet Franc (25 per cent), Carménère (17 per cent), Cabernet Sauvignon (8 per cent) and Malbec (8 per cent). A classic claret-style red, still unfolding, it has ripe blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, seasoned with nutty oak, good tannin backbone, and impressive density and complexity. Already delicious, it's well worth cellaring to 2023+. - Michael Cooper
