Puriri Hills pope, Vintage 2015

THE REVIEWS

96 Points “Flagship label in a slightly more concentrated and more structured style thanks in part to the higher percentage of cabernet sauvignon and the addition of carménère. It needs a little time to mellow and develop greater complexity.” - Bob Campbell ONZM MW

95 Points “Aromas of violets, blackberries, cedar, sandalwood, and iron shavings. Full-bodied yet the palate is very tight and compacted. Fantastic tannin structure and a tight, fresh finish. Tannic at the end yet polished texture. This will continue to age beautifully. Drink or hold. James Suckling October 2022

“A bouquet of astonishing quality and intensity - complex notes of exotic perfumes including violets, cassis, dried plum, nutmeg, graphite, leather plus a hint of dark chocolate and liquorice. Whopping concentration and great beauty simultaneously. Delicate layers of dark cherries and berries are infused with chocolate, succulent and creamy but with purity of fruit evolving to a rich , spicy, and refreshing crescendo of power. Unlike anything you will have tasted from NZ before. An amazingly complete wine - hard to imagine how it could possibly be better.” - Fine Wine Delivery Company, November 2021

5 Stars “The powerful but elegant 2015 vintage is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère and Malbec, matured for two years in French oak casks (90 per cent new). Deeply coloured, it is full-bodied, with ripe, highly concentrated, almost lush blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours. Still very youthful, it's a dense, well-structured, complex red, sure to be long-lived. Best drinking 2024+. Michael Cooper
